Deep Respect
Heartbeat of the Land was born from a deep respect for our mother earth, the voices of our ancestors and all of our relatives. Lance’s journey into this work grew from personal reconnection. After experiencing a long period of feeling disconnected from identity and culture, he returned to Indigenous teachings, language, and ceremony. Through that healing process, he found grounding, strength, and purpose. Today, he helps others reconnect to culture, self, and community through music, storytelling, and shared experiences. His journey is one of reclamation and celebration, ensuring that Indigenous identity remains a living, breathing force for generations to come. Lance always does his best to thank his water and to remind others to thank their water as well. Did you thank you water today?
Interconnectedness
When we begin to realize everything is interconnected and that our relatives come in many shapes and forms, we begin to feel a deeper connection with all beings. With that perspective we learn to open our minds and being living our lives with more humility, respect, and love in our everyday lives. It brings about a feeling of knowing, belonging and connection.   Â
Sobriety and Reconnecting
November 9th, 2021, stands as a massive turning point in my life. That was the day I walked into my first Wellbriety meeting, and the very next day, I made the choice to walk away from alcohol for good. It wasn't just a personal decision; it was a response to a calling. I felt Creator speaking to my heart, making it clear that if I truly wanted to reconnect with my culture and find my path, I had to let go of the "mind changer."

Answering that call changed everything. Since that day, the journey has been nothing short of beautiful. By choosing sobriety, I’ve been able to clear the space needed to truly listen and learn. It has deepened my relationship with Creator, Mother Earth, and Father Sky. More than that, it has mended and strengthened my ties to myself, my family, my community, and all of our relations.

I often share this part of my story with youth in schools because I want them to see the gifts that come with a sober life. It’s not just about what you give up—it’s about everything you gain. Reconnecting with my culture gave me a foundation that alcohol never could, and I continue to walk this path today with gratitude and a clear mind.
